Methodology: It was a case-control study. The cases were constituted by the individuals who came to the dental service for consultation with partial or total edentulousness, with or without dental prostheses while the controls were constituted by individuals who came to the dental service for consultation without missing teeth. The sample size was 210, including 105 cases and 105 controls (1 case for 1 control).
